For long, I have been thinking about launching a new blog that would become a bridge between my Second Life activities and web presence. Since the very first day I joined SL, I have been very enthusiastic to the idea of publishing an in-world magazine but was eventually curbed by technical difficulties (e.g. lack of a good publishing format like PDF to be used in-world, there’s only Thinc Book which is not very practical.) In February 2007, when I noticed my SL business was going much smoother and better than I thought before, I switched to another project: a regularly updated blog that would promote and support Esperanza, my stores chain in SL. But unfortunately I have never found the opportunity to do this for a long time.
Now, after spending one and a half year in the metaverse, I think it’s about time to start an exclusive and fresh web communication that would help me (Invictus Berthold a.k.a. Vic) to reach a wider reader-resident group. Not only for “business”… Esperanza and my total SL experience have more cultural and social functions for me than being just a “commercial activity”. I always see this “metaversial adventure” as a great opportunity to meet, communicate, exchange ideas and share knowledge with an active, mature, international community.
So, this blog will serve as an “independent SL media” for me: giving news, passing opinions and comments, sharing important knowledge on SL or any other thing with other residents who are eager to follow and read this blog… As well as, being a functional new channel for Esperanza and its product lines / services in-world.
Let’s say hello, fellow avatars!
And here comes the first comment: noticed the cool “Ankh” necklace, I’ve been wearing? It’s a gift of my friend Deyanira Yalin, owner of Devlyn Designs. She has an awesome collection in her main store, so I recommend a visit to all who are interested about exotic accessories.
