This web site and blog was created by Invictus “Vic” Berthold, the owner of the Esperanza Stores in the virtual metaverse Second Life. Esperanza was founded in November 2006 as a modest boutique selling unisex apparel and mostly shirts/sweaters but in a very short period created a wide range of products and goods for SL residents.
In February 2007, Esperanza was being operated with a modest main store in Sinfro and several rental shops at the best known malls. Especially the “home bars” product range become rapidly popular among SL enthusiasts, which made Esperanza one of the important brands in market.

In April 2007, Invictus Berthold bought the first large land at Elmaer and moved the main store to a two-storey building on this 2048 sqm parcel. In June 2007, the second big store came, which is across the first one on the same sim: “Boutique Esperanza” was specialized on artworks, posters and vintage art, presenting one of the largest poster collections in SL.

During Summer 2007, Esperanza’s low prim, interactive product series “Summer Bar” became increasingly popular with its 8 different models, selling hundreds in a few weeks. At the same time, with the contributions of Ares Seiling, garden and patio furnishings was added as a new product line. By September 2007, Esperanza expanded its land at Elmaer to more than 5100 sqm, by purchasing the main street (now named “Esperanza Street”) in between the two stores.

Early in Fall 2007, with the launch of “Esperanza Beach”, which is established on a 12,288 sqm ocean front beach, a new product line was added: Tiki Bars & Stuff. With this step, Vic and Ares entered into a new field, specializing on tropical garden furnishings, tiki huts, bamboo stuff and beach furnitures.
Beginning with March 2008, a new 3100 sqm parcel was purchased by Vic in Linden protected land Baikal and was immediately designed to present plants, flowers, fountains, waterfalls and garden stuff, being named “Esperanza Gardens”. The same year, Julian Feldmann joined the team as assistant manager.

As of October 2009, Esperanza property is over 21,000 sqm land and four large main stores in 3 different sims – with an ever growing product tree of +500 items.
This web site/blog was launched in March 2008, powered by the immense possibilities of WordPress software.
